Synchronicity - coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related.

Ever get the feeling that certain things happen for a reason? Synchronicity, the classic album by The Police was the first record ever purchased by lead singer and songwriter Dan Rosen. It was an album that shaped his formative years in Australia, his passion for music and penchant for intelligent songwriting. It was also a belief in following your muse and thrill of adventure that led Dan to New York City, and through a chance encounter, to his bandmates.

After gaining critical success in Australia with SecondDan's debut EP, Dan decided to move to New York with the rest of the band in tow. Despite his best intentions, his bandmates later decided to stay Downunder. On the day he heard his band would not be joining him, Dan happened to be browsing guitars at Matt Umanov's - Greenwich Village's most famous guitar shop. He relayed the bad news to the shop assistant, Daniel Reisbeck who was showing off a black 1967 Telecaster. Daniel revealed to Dan that he was bass player and his work colleague, Sonny Ratcliffe, who had just arrived from Virginia, played drums. He asked Dan to leave a copy of the EP, and if he liked the songs a jam could be set up. Reisbeck and Ratcliffe loved what they heard, and immediately joined the band. Adding their New Yorker guitarist friend Adam Lerner to the mix was the final piece of the puzzle. That was a year ago ... and the rest is history in the making. Synchronicity.

So, now SecondDan are ready to launch the next phase of their musical journey. The band has spent the past year honing their sounds and their tunes and building a passionate fanbase around New York. The band has played headline shows at Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery and Crash Mansion, supports at Irving Plaza, and shows in Boston and LA.

SecondDan create music for your head and your heart - combining the pop sensibilities of Foo Fighters and Jane's Addiction with the passion and world-view of U2 and countrymen Midnight Oil. It is on the stage where SecondDan shows it true spirit - delivering a blistering live set taking their music and their message straight to heart of everyone within earshot.

Before heading over to the States, SecondDan were selected as the winners of the prestigious Unearthed competition by Australian alternative rock radio station Triple J - following famous alumni Silverchair. SecondDan's first two singles were placed on high national radio rotation, with their debut EP ranking in the top independent releases of 2004.The band toured the country on festival bills with the likes of White Stripes, Black Rebel MotorCycle Club, and The Vines.

SecondDan have spent the past few months in studios in New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne working with producer Andy Baldwin on their highly anticipated debut album.. The album is set for release April 2007.
