News HAPPY HOLIDAYS (December, 2007) TROPFEST (Sept 23, 2007) THE ALBUM (Apr 23, 07) Exciting news. Second Dan have teamed up with New York City's burgeoning indie promotions, publicity and newly formed record label Organic Entertainment to release our debut album 'Bringing Down Goliath' this Fall. Organic were so impressed with us when we first approached them with the album that they decided to sign us to their new venture. Look for news and updates from both of us over the summer and the release draws near. CRASH (Feb 4, 07) We had one of our best ever shows last night at Crash Mansion. The night ended with 20 people (mostly lovely ladies) joining us onstage dancing to "running out of feelings". it is moments like that when you realise why you love playing live music. no barrier between you and the crowd. no inhibitions. just the power of music. thanks to all who came down to the show last night. you put a smile on our faces. MASTERED ALBUM (Feb 1, 2007) We have been working hard on the new album ... and we are getting close to the finish. This weekend we spent time at Sterling Sound doing the mastering of the album. It is amazing here the songs put through the final gloss before going to print. If you have been down to the live shows you probably would have heard some of the latest tracks including, "Met a Girl"; "Forget to Remember"; "The Elephant Fell to Earth". So, get ready for the release of the album come April ... SECOND DAN have re-entered the studio to record some new songs for their forthcoming album. The sessions were overseen by our maestro Andy Baldwin and we recorded in the awesome Stratosphere Studios - co-owned by James Iha (Samshing Pumpkins and James Schelesinger (Fountains of Wayne). Thanks so much for Deb the manager for helping us out. The new songs are sounding great. We recorded four songs "Love and Innocence"; "Make Me Want To"; "How you Getting On?" and a cracking new version of "Running Out of Feelings". We have now set up a studio in Williamsburg - at Renaissance Studios - to do some further work on the recordings. Stay tuned for tales from the 'Burg .... See some photos from the session here See photos from Irving Plaza here. We have been back in the studio with leading Australian producer Andy Baldwin working on our next record. Andy came to us in New York via Memphis where he had been working on an album with the legendary Sun producers. The initial mixes of these sessions are sounding great and we feel very excited about the path we have embarked on. Songs recorded so far include The Elephant Fell to Earth, It's a Pity (you're so pretty), Met a Girl, Forget to Remember and Run and Hide. See photos from the studio sessions here. Dan is going back to Australia to work on vocals and mixes with Andy in early December. We will keep you updated on the progress of the record – and give you some sneak previews of the songs along the way. |
